Gresham Search Limited
Who we are
Gresham Search Limited is an executive search firm specialising in quantitative finance. We are the data controller for the personal data we hold. You can contact us at info@gresham-search.com.
What data we hold and where we got it
We may hold your name, contact details, employment history, professional profile, and related career information. We may also hold notes from conversations with you, which we use both to manage our professional relationship and to inform our understanding of the quantitative finance market more broadly. We may have obtained your details directly from you, from a professional database or job board such as LinkedIn or eFinancialCareers, or a contact may have suggested we reach out to you. Where that is the case we will tell you who referred us when we make contact.
Why we hold it and on what basis
We process your data for the purpose of executive search and talent mapping in the quantitative finance sector. We rely on legitimate interests as our lawful basis; specifically, identifying and maintaining relationships with professionals who may be relevant to current or
future search mandates. We have assessed that this processing is proportionate and that professionals in this specialist market have a reasonable expectation of contact from search firms. You have the right to object to this at any time.
How long we keep it
We retain your data for as long as it remains relevant to our search activity and our understanding of the quantitative finance market. Where you have been successfully placed, we retain your record for up to six years from the date of placement for legal and contractual
purposes, after which your personal details are anonymised and only the commercial record is retained. All other data is reviewed periodically and deleted or anonymised when it is no longer needed.
Who we share your data with
We may share your professional profile with a client in connection with a specific search mandate. We will always discuss this with you before doing so. We do not sell your data or share it for any purpose unrelated to executive search.
We use third-party technology providers to store and manage data. These providers act as processors on our behalf and are bound by data processing agreements that restrict how they may use your data.
How we use AI
We use an AI language models, including some provided by Amazon Web Services via Amazon Bedrock, to help parse and interpret CV content. This assists us in understanding your professional background and matching your experience to relevant mandates. This process
does not involve automated decision-making; all decisions about whether to contact you or put you forward for a role are made by a person. We do not use your personal data to train any AI model. Your data is processed by the AI system solely to support our search activity and is not retained by that system beyond the immediate task.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of the data we hold about you, to object to us holding or using it, to restrict how we use it, and to ask us where we obtained it. To exercise any of these rights contact us at [email] and we will respond within one month.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the ICO at ico.org.uk.
